~~~~ W A R N I N G ~~~~ Another wys'er sent this to me and I thought I would pass it along ! IMPORTANT:::: Never never do this!! I do this all the time . I guess I won't be doing it ANY more! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few days ago, a young teenage boy was recharging his mobile phone at home. Just at that time a call came in and he answered it with the cell still connected to the outlet. After a few seconds electricity flowed into the cell phone unrestrained and the young man was thrown to the ground with a heavy thud. His parents rushed to the room only to find him unconscious, with a weak heartbeat and burnt fingers. He was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cell phones are a very useful modern invention. However, we must be aware that it can also be an instrument of death. Never use the cell phone while it is hooked to the electrical outlet! Not entirely true. Check it out on the urban legends website: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/techno/cellcharge.asp However, they CAN catch on fire when they are plugged in, so it's not a good idea to leave them unattended. My daughter-in-law's cell phone did catch fire, but fortunately she was right there when it did and it didn't do anything except ruin the phone.
It does not hurt to be just a little bit afraid of what MIGHT happen!! I use to talk on the phone (land line)while it was raining with thunder rumbling and lightning flashing. Then, one day, right here in Wilmington, that lighting went right through somebody's phone line and that person was injured. Happened a long time ago and to this day, I do not talk on the phone during a storm
I agree with you billie... Anytime there is electricity or lightening involved with anything that involves human contact , there is reason for caution.
Moosetracks - no it wasn't all wrong. And like Billie said - better to be safe and a little afraid of what COULD happen.
G-Momma --- 209 days ago -
Oh...scared me for a minute!! I use my cell while charging all the time.
billie --- 209 days ago -
I've been known to do that, but not since I received emails warning that it was dangerous.
I personally never cared much for yacking on the phone. And when I have to plug my cell in because the other person has worn my battery out yacking ( my sister ) ...lol... Now I will say ..... Hey this is dangerous and my phone is about to die ! ...... I love it !
